Pictures from the Auction
Ok, the pictures from the auction have arrived. They brought back so many funny memories of that night. If you were unable to join us, perhaps you can make it next year. It was a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone who attended and for those of you who donated an item or money or purchased something online. What a success.

What is next?
I am hoping that each of you enjoyed your Spring Break. Perhaps you did something super active like skiing, perhaps you lounged on a beach somewhere.... or if you were like me you took it really easy and relaxed mostly here at home. Whatever you did, I hope that each of you enjoyed your break. I know I did. The next few months of school are always crazy, so we all needed the breather.
Ok, what is next on the PTO agenda? Officer election time! We need you! I am talking to YOU! If you are someone who reads this blog, you are especially someone we would love to have join us on the board. You clearly care about your school and you don't even mind listening to me ramble on about silly things. You are perfect! We have jobs from big to small and everything in between. Signing up for a job does not mean that you have to give up your life. Some jobs are a very small commitment, such as being the coordinator for the 4th grade program. Some jobs are a very large commitment, such as hospitality coordinator. There are a lot in between each of those. I assure you there is something that is for you. Dads, you TOO! We need a Dad Club Coordinator, in particular. Joining PTO as an officer will not be something you regret, I promise. I have loved every position I have ever held and look forward to trying new jobs over the next few years.
Your child should have come home with a nomination form for you to peruse last week. If not, look for it in the newsletter.

SUCCESS!
Ok, first let me start by apologizing for not getting in a post last week. I kept waiting for the final numbers and pictures from the evening and I never got it done. I kind of needed a PTO break after the auction. I hope you can all forgive me. I was exhausted.
That being said, WOW! The auction was a huge success. The location was beautiful. The food was spectacular (thanks to Harper and Patricia Caron and Uncle Julio's)! I think everyone who came to the event had a great time. It looks like we made around $17500 from the auction. We are still waiting on final costs to come in for an absolute total. WHOOHOOO! The auction team outdid themselves. A big thank you to our Auction Chairs; Julie Albright and Sheila Pensotti. They did a fabulous job of coordinating everything and everyone who worked with them. A HUGE thank you to our PTO Treasurer Rosie Stevens and her hubby, Michael. They missed most of the auction plugging sales into their computer and coordinating all the receipts and payments. Another thank you to every person who donated an item, bought an item, purchased a ticket, ironed a tablecloth, helped on any committee or did anything to support our auction. WE DID IT!
We had a lot of families with younger children and a lot of families, who I have not had the pleasure of meeting. It was exciting to see new faces and reinforces my belief in the need to have more events like this to get people out, having fun and supporting our school. If I didn't get the chance to meet you or thank you in person for attending our event (because I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off), I am sorry. Thank you.
If you were unable to come to the auction or if you chose not to come because it isn't your cup of tea, that is OK! We are going to have some other events and one of those might be perfect for your family. Coming soon we will have information about our Spring Family Social. It is sure to be fun for the whole family and a great way to meet some new friends.
PTO Officer Elections are coming up soon. Please consider taking on a role with the PTO for next year. We could use some fresh faces and new ideas. We would love to have you. I am looking forward to continuing my role as President and can't wait to meet you.
