A hope for healing....

How crazy is this time of year?  It is unbelievable.  Rushing to find the perfect gifts, send the cards, buy the groceries, attend the countless parties, attend school fundraising and class parties, get the house decorated, etc.  It is easy to forget to sit and breathe and to be thankful for those things in our life that are going so great.

Not everyone has been so lucky this year.  This has been a extremely difficult year for the health of several of our own Denton Creek teachers.  Mrs. Brown was diagnosed with cancer.  Mrs. Melton had to have surgery on her foot and has been out for months.  Mrs. VanRiper was really sick at the beginning of the year and was hospitalized, but has since recovered and is back at work.  And lastly, Kathy Flatt, was recently admitted to the hospital with intestinal issues.  They are still determining what exactly is wrong with Mrs. Flatt.  I may even be forgetting someone.  With so many substitutes up at the school everyday, it is hard to remember who is ill.  If I have forgotten someone, I am so sorry.

I just wanted everyone to take a minute to be thankful for your health and to think about those who are having a hard time.  I hope that the new year brings health and happiness for each of you and for those wonderful teachers at Denton Creek, especially those struggling right now.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Lisa
